Door County Native Shelly Lees of Art & Stuff & Things creates incredible works of living art. " I love art! I love to create. Plants are similar, you put work and time into them and get to watch them grow and change." Shelly says about her creative process.
Her son, Bastion, loves to get his hands dirty and help his mom. "He helps sometimes. He used to always help me plant the summer food garden. He likes to come with me when I drop off plants, and says he wants to work at the shops where I sell plants."
Shelly describes her mixed media work as "Nature themed, plants and skulls and bones. Using the antique papers and other odds and ends mixes my love of art with my obsession with all things old and neat and weird. Maybe I could play with adding live plants to my art works!"
